Hi guys
I know this does not effect all club members only ones in the touring car class.
I was wondering if we can give 13.5 blinky a go this week and see if we can get our racing a bit closer to each other.
Would like to here yours thoughts. ;D ;D

Even tho im not a touring car driver I think this would be a good idea. In other clubs its apparently made the driving closer and cleaner as you don't get a sudden jump forward when the turbo kicks in and you're not expecting it.

Hi Tim
You know I'm up for this ;D
From previous experience if you can slow the cars down then the gap between first and last as Stuart has stated will reduce stimulating close racing.
IMO Club racing should be about having fun and racing, slowing the cars down will I think help. Also the wear and tear on the car is less, so less expensive and time consuming all good thing as i see it.
I believe if all clubs (not just DMCRC) don't adopt some form of blinky racing then they will struggle to keep people, I for one am considering it for next season.
I'm looking forward to it already. ;D

I think you all know my thoughts regarding boosted speedos - for those that don't - they should never have been invented.
They are largely responsible for the demise of the touring car scene in this country as club drivers are fed up with the costs associated with "chasing" speed to compete.
Championships now hinge on who can best set up a speedo instead of on driving ability.
I'm all for blinky - i have asked this question before, a few weeks ago but the response wasn't good.
Try it out as Tim suggests and if its a success then we can discuss it as being permanent or not.

Again, I don't race in the TC class anymore, but I think it is a good idea. It may draw a couple more people down as the racing will be closer. It would appeal to me more if I ever came back to the TC class..

Just a note to say how much i enjoyed the racing with 13.5 Blinkey on Friday. ;D
The whole touring car pack were much closer together, cars were so much nicer to drive and for once i had time and the control to think about driving lines.
Interestingly the lap times were very similar to 13.5 Boosted so over 5 minutes i don't think they were slower.
Can we please keep this class? ;D

Got to say it was good for me too really liked it.
Didn't like the fact im one speedo and motor down now but im sure that will be fixed soon.
Will just have to try and not hit so much next week. too much time lost in c~~k moments.

Not sure how many other tourers we have who haven't done it yet, but would like whoever they are to have the opportunity to make their comments after having a go before we make a decision. Liam is going to join the party next week with his FF03 to see if it becomes more competitive in blinky - should be interesting. Be nice to see a superstock or two running in the mini mod class too -, come on Mark (Harding)

Yes I will be joining in next week, will be running 17.5t Blinky though as I haven't got a 13.5t. The class looked so much better and appealing with everyone running Blinky. Definetly the way forward IMO.
I may even come back to TC racing at this rate..

Again the new 'Blinky' class looked super-close again this week. The FF03 wasn't too bad when I tried it in practice with 17.5t Blinky. Hopefully I'll running in the class again quite soon, but with 4WD power

What gear ratio should I be looking at for down the club with 13.5t Blinky? Motor will be a SpeedPassion V3 13.5t.

13.5 Blinky on D3, GM and Ballistic motors I run between 5.5 and 6.0 fdr.
As usual Liam when you first run it keep a eye on the motor temps as different driving styles can make a big difference in temps.
