Been pondering this today as I ordered a motor that was hopefully going to be fixed zero timing (so legal for CWIC) but has come with an updated can which allows for timing adjustment.
So looking at this logicially doesn't it mean that anyone that has a motor that has a timing adjustment must set that back to the fully retarded position (either zero or - on the motor) otherwise you are adding timing to the motor. The manufacturers don't make it clear but this may explain why we've been seeing adjustable timing motors appear quicker than say a hobbywing fixed timing motor (about the only one left with fixed timing).
Any adjustment available below where you have it set must mean its not at zero? This would also mean anyone with a Speed passion motor would have to move the sensor port to the left for zero rather than in the middle which I think is 6 deg of timing.
If anyone from the committee could clarify this as we need to get this cleared up as by looking at what 21.5t motors are becoming available soon you will only be able to get adjustable timing motors.
(And for reference the Team Wave ECLIPSE brushless motor with temperature LED 21.5T would not be legal as even at its 0 mark it still has 30 deg of advanced timing on the motor.)
