Hello All,
My name's Joe and I'm new to the forum, and to on road RC.
I really like the look of the Tamiya Mini Stock class for a place to start. From reading around about the different M chassis though I am left a bit confused!
A lot seem to swear by the M03 but there is also the 05 and 06? I want to buy new and build so as to get a good understanding on the workings.
Any guidance greatly appreciated. Joe

The m-05 is the later version of the m03 with improved balance and maintenance, the new one will also except touring car style lipos. The mo6 is rwd and quicker but can be trickier to setup. Take a look on the facebook page as there is normally someone selling one or the other.
If you want new then I can help at Lesro models, we can get in kits for you from hobby.co who are the uk importers of tamiya.

I'd personally be choosing a M03 over the M05. Even though the M05 is newer, I have never got a quick setup on one, whereas I found the M03 easier to setup. The best Tamiya M06 I've used though is the M06, but probably not best for a beginner as they can be difficult to get a setup on, but far superior once you've found the sweet spot.
I'm not saying the M05 isn't a good car, as it is, but I just found it a lot easier to setup a M03. You should also be able to pick up a M03 for peanuts!
