Sounds like a good idea... I don't think anyone would have stood a chance if Team 5 hadn't have missed out on two stints, even with handicaps.

Team selection
I think looking at the comments we will be doing this again soon. So, just thinking of other ways to form teams so the overall team abilities are balanced. Possibilities;
1. Select 1 F1 and 1 F2 for Touring and Mini classes, any novice. Problem here is F1 drivers, only 2 or 3 were in the teams last Friday.
2. Drivers enter the event and the teams formed by pulling names from a hat. Touring drivers split into top six and bottom six. One picked from each half. Do same for Mini. Good points - mixing up drivers get to know other drivers better. Problems - we have several dad/son combinations which may not want to be split into different teams (8 pairs in the 6 teams).
3. Give each driver a "value" score which can be the driver ranking eg Pete Hammock ranking is 83% has a 83 points value. Then add up the scores for all 5 team members and this must not exceed a figure to be determined but may be say 425. By this method no team can grab all the best drivers, but you choose who your team members are. Just to compare with the teams on friday, the points score of the teams would be;
Team 1 343 Team 2 392 Team 3 428 Team 4 405 Team 5 429 Team 6 447
If it was 425, then 3 teams would have to alter their team to get under the 425 score. The points score of the teams and the actual laps done last Friday does correlate fairly well, so the closer the scores the closer the racing will be. Team 5 problems does show the best team on paper is not necessarily going to be the winner.
Any other suggestions.

Yes a good balance. Team score for 5 would have been 429, so my 425 is probably not far off.

A few pictures are on the website now under news. I was unable to go last week but this week will pick up some raw video footage and hopefully make a half descent montage for us.
Cheers
